Z.E.R.O. — A Book Series You Don’t Just Read. A World You Enter.

The Inspiration and Vision Behind Z.E.R.O.

By Ginger Yarbrough, Creator of Z.E.R.O. — Zero Event Response Organization

I’ve always been fascinated by the unknown. The mysteries of our world, the things we can’t explain, and the endless possibilities of what might exist beyond our current understanding have intrigued me for as long as I can remember.

I’ve often wondered just how much of our world we truly understand. What might exist beyond what we can see? What mysteries are still waiting to be discovered? And what if some of the things we consider impossible aren’t so impossible after all?

From 2005 to 2012, I ran a paranormal research team, spending years exploring unexplained phenomena and searching for answers to questions that don’t always have simple explanations. During my life, I’ve also witnessed some strange things myself, experiences that have only deepened my curiosity about the unknown.

I’ve always loved watching paranormal shows, documentaries, and television series that explore mysterious events, unusual encounters, and things that challenge our understanding of reality. But my fascination has never been limited to what I watch on television. It’s the possibilities that capture my imagination.

That lifelong curiosity, combined with my personal experiences, years of paranormal research, and love of storytelling, became part of the inspiration behind Z.E.R.O. — Zero Event Response Organization.

From Curiosity to Creation

Z.E.R.O. is an original science-fiction and paranormal horror book series that explores a fictional world where unexplained phenomena, mysterious creatures, strange encounters, and extraordinary discoveries are part of something much larger.

Through the stories, readers follow the people of Z.E.R.O., an independent organization dedicated to investigating events that defy conventional explanation. Its personnel encounter mysteries that challenge what humanity believes it knows about the world and, sometimes, what lies beyond it.

But when I began creating Z.E.R.O., I wanted something more than stories written on a page.

I wanted to build an entire world around them.

More Than a Story. An Entire World.

I didn’t want readers to simply read about Z.E.R.O. and its investigations. I wanted them to have the opportunity to explore the organization itself, almost as though it were a real place.

That’s why I began developing a companion website designed to bring the fictional organization to life.

Visitors can explore personnel dossiers, creature archives, surveillance footage, classified information, and other materials connected to the stories. The headquarters, its personnel, its equipment, and its mysteries all contribute to creating the atmosphere of an organization that could actually exist.

The website isn’t intended to be a video game, movie, or television series. It’s an extension of the books, a place where the fictional world continues beyond the written stories.

I wanted the experience to feel authentic while still making it clear that Z.E.R.O. is an original literary creation.

The books tell the stories, while the website allows readers to step into the world where those stories unfold.

Where Imagination Meets the Unknown

One of the things I enjoy most about creating Z.E.R.O. is having the freedom to explore possibilities without being limited by what we currently understand.

Not every mystery needs an immediate explanation. Not every creature has to resemble something familiar. And not every discovery has to fit neatly into what we believe is possible.

My own experiences and interests have helped shape my curiosity, but Z.E.R.O. is a work of fiction, built through imagination and storytelling.

I didn’t create Z.E.R.O. because I believe I have all the answers. Quite the opposite. I created it because I’ve always loved the questions.

And perhaps that’s what makes the unknown so fascinating. No matter how much we discover, there’s always the possibility that something extraordinary is still waiting beyond the next unanswered question.
